【Abstract】 English education in China has witnessed great changes in the history of 150 years ever since the establishment of Tongwen Office in 1862.Interestingly,the 150 years can be divided into five periods,each of which lasted around 30 years.This paper aims to analyse and summarize the strength and weakness of each period,holding the view that government and educational organizations must play an important role in designing the blueprints of English education and teaching policies.更多还原
